Journée de repos

La fête de la musique était sympa à Saint-Denis, nous nous sommes donc couchés tard, vers minuit ! (tout est relatif ... sur l'ile, minuit c'est très tard; d'habitude on est couchés au plus tard à 22:00, car il faut se lever tôt et marcher beaucoup).


The music day, yesterday was nice in Saint-Denis, we went then late to bed, around minight! (On the island midnight is really late; normally we are sleeping around 22:00, because we have to get up early and to walk a lot).

Donc comme prévu, petite journée aujourd'hui: après le petit déjeuner, nous avons été faire un tour au jardin d'Etat de Saint-Denis, c'est un jardin publique avec quelques très grand palmiers, et de jolis fleurs.


So as planned, today is a relaxing day: after the breakfast, we went to walk a little bit in the City garden. It's a public garden with some huge palms and nice flowers.

Ensuite petit tour shopping dans les rues de Saint-Denis et direction Boucan-Canot pour un déjeuner au bord de la plage.

Petit tour sur la plage pour regarder les pécheurs et ensuite direction le port de Saint-Gilles pour réserver notre sortie en bateau pour la semaine prochaine.

Then short shopping tour in Saint-Denis and direction Boucan-Canot to eat beside the beach.


Small walk on the beach to watch the fishermen and we went to the port of Saint-Gilles to reserve our boat trip for next week.

Vers 15:00 arrivée à notre dernier bungalow pour ces vacances, à Senteur Vanille à Saint-Gilles. Comme d'habitude, nous sommes très bien recu et le cadre est superbe. Nous pouvons enfin nous installer "durablement", et donc laver quelques habits, surtout des chaussettes et pantalons de marche, vu l'état dans lequel ils sont.

Après le tri des valises, et le rangement de la voiture, nous pouvons nous reposer un peu avant de partir dinner.

Around 15:00 we arrived at our last bungalow for these holidays, in Senteur Vanille, Saint-Gilles. As always, we are nicely welcomed and the environment is beautiful. We can finally settle down for more than one day, so the first thing we do is a washing machine, especially for socks and walking trousers.


After sorting out the suitcases and ordering the car, we can relax a little bit and then go down in the city for the diner.

Avis à la population: le prochain post n'aura peut être pas lieu avant lundi, car nous avons un programme chargé ce week-end: Foire aux agrumes à Petite-Ile avec concert samedi, Marche avec guide aux Makes et Grand Boucan (sorte de carnaval) à Saint-Gilles dimanche.

As information: the next post will probably appear only on moday as we have a completly filled agenda for this weekend: Citrus fruits day in Petite-ile with concert on saturday; organised walk in Les Makes and Grand Boucan (kind of carnaval) in Saint-Gilles on sunday.
